It's been a while.

Of course Its Sunday so its time to weigh in. I am Officially under 200! This week I lost 1.8 pounds. So my currant weight is 198.8! I think Its been about 8 years since I was under 200. So It's has been a while. The beginning of my week was really good and I stuck to my workout. Tuesday Is when I fudged up and didn't go to the gym because I just didn't feel like it. 5 days instead of my normal 6.

Saturday is my normal "off day". I don't usually work out that day but my co-worker Ben and I decided to walk the Meadowdale trail/beach by my house. I can tell that he really loves his dog Mandy because he was taking alot of pics of her. I managed to sneak into a couple of them.

                                                               The trail is kinda woodsy.
I haven't been down that trail in a while. On the way back up I was panting because It's still a little tough for me. While we were trying to make our way back up the big hill some people would be passing us jogging up it! I'm not to that level yet but maybe one day. All I know is that I'm glad that I burned some calories on my day off.

Back on Track.

It's Sunday which translates to weigh in day for me. I really stuck to my calories and my work out plan this week so I thought I would lose 2 pounds. Somehow I lost 4 pounds! So now my currant weight is 200.6. Next week I'm hoping to be below 200! Today I increased my jogging to 7 minutes with 1 minute walking in intervals 4 times. It was a little tough but I made it to the gym. Also I increased my weights at the gym today. The prone leg curl is kicking my butt!

 When my dad came to my work and gave me a bag of mung beans I was thinking what in the world am I gonna do with these? Well I found this recipe for Moong Dal and made some freakin' good Indian food!  Only 448 calories for dinner when paired with brown basmati rice. Next time I have to remember to wear gloves when I chop the fingers burned for 2 days :( .

Weigh In day.

The last two weeks I don't know what it is but I have been very lazy about my calorie counting and work outs. Every Sunday morning I weigh in. Usually my goal is to lose 2 pounds a week. Usually I meet that goal. This week I gained .4 pounds! So now I'm 204.6. I don't want to start going backwards so as soon as I got off the scale I decided that I definitely need to stick to my regular 6 day a week work out and stay within my daily 1700 calories. So I went out the door into the rain and started my routine.
  • 35 minute jog to my gym. 5 minutes jogging with 1 minute walking in intervals.
  • 7 minutes on the tall bike followed by 33+5 minute cool down on the elliptical.
  • 30 minutes of strength training
  • 45 minute walk home.
I felt so good after my workout. Just need to stay motivated!

This is what I usually have for lunch after my workouts. A spinach/collard green salad with a baked potato (457 calories)

Ive been using this website for a jogging email course. They send you an email once a day to gradually build you up to being able to jog for 5 minutes straight with one minute of walking in between for 35 minutes. I've completed the course now and I think I'm ready to move on to something more challenging. When I was at the gym today I saw an add "Run-A-Muk an annual 10k run and 5k walk/run on Saturday, August 27, 2011". I'm not ready for the 10k just yet but the next few weeks I'm going to train for the 5k!!!! My goal is to jog the whole way without stopping.

Now I will throw in a random product review for vegan makeup. This is Urban Decays ammo shadow box. I used this youtube video to make this look. I've never used this brand overall I really like it.

Late night pizza!

You know how you always hear rules about dieting like "Don't eat dinner right before bed because you will gain weight". My boyfriend always gets home around 12- 1am so I always eat dinner very late. Then right after we go to sleep. So I guess I've debunked that myth. Anyways here are some pics of the pizza I made today (531 calories for 2 slices). Also I made cookies but those are not to be eaten yet. I'm saving them for Sunday when I go to my district meeting (Buddhist). We are having movie night and I plan on filling everyone up with sugar.

My First Post

It has been 6 1/2 months of calorie counting and exercise. My goal is to lose 100 pounds total in one year. I was 258 and my goal is to be 158. My goal weight is the high end of my BMI. Since I am 5'8'' that is 160.  So far I have lost 53.8 pounds. My currant weight is 204.2 . Over halfway there!
