My parents and I haven't been that close for most of my life. When they found out that I'm Buddhist they suddenly have an interest in my life (weather I'm going to hell or not). They are for sure having problems dealing with my Buddhist practice. Even if they want to lay on the guilt about their views on the afterlife, I just need to stand my ground an let them know that they don't have to agree but at least respect my decisions on how I choose to live my life. I feel like I'm venting but this whole situation is stressing me out.
GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK
- Go to the gym 6 days.
- Stick to 1500 calories per day.
- Only have 1 cookie at the cookie making party.
- Stop stressing out.
- Chant 2 times per day.
- Lose 2 pounds.
Still gotta post that recipe for the Mexican chocolate snickerdoodles. On Saturday I'm making over 250 of them for World Peace Prayer. Hope some people show up to the cookie making party. Here is a sneak peek of the sample batch.
I think the principles of Buddhism are beautiful and they are part of the patchwork that is my faith. Be strong.
ReplyDeleteHey you just hang in there! and there is nothing wrong with venting now and then, you have a right to explore your faith in any way you want, everyone has to find what they are comfortable with, nice meeting you today at Safeway btw! eating my guacamole!! :) take care...
